One of the most important industries of Amalfi in the past was the making of paper. Most paper mills where located at the Valley of the paper mills, the stream Canneto was the watercourse that fed the machines which reduced white coloured cotton rags, flax and hemp to a pulp, which was subsequently reworked into paper, using a technique that originated in China and perfected by the people of Amalfi. It is nowadays considered valuable paper and used for special occasions, such as wedding invitations.

The trail into the Valley is filled with history and its peaceful atmosphere is ideal for the soul, famous writers like Henry Longfellow, Karl Friedrich have described and praised the beauty of the path.

From the charming town of Ravello we hike to Scala, the oldest town of the Amalfi Coast, today twinned with Brooklyn, New York. Passing through the main square we can see some of its main monuments: the sculpture by Silvio Amelio dedicated to the victims of September 11th 2001 and a relief of Gerardo Sasso, founder of the Knights of Malta order, born in Scala. From here our descent to the Paper mills valley starts. Hiking alongside the stream Canneto we will admire imposing mills, where in the past the precious “Amalfi Paper" was produced, and terraces with scented lemon trees. At the end of the walk, it is possible to visit the Paper Museum in Amalfi and the Cathedral of Saint Andrew.

The booking will be confirmed by our Company by a prepayment of the 30% of the service 10 days before the tour using Pay Pal for safe and fast payment.
If you cancel the tour 7 days or more before the service you will be completely refund of your prepayment 
If you cancel the tour less than 7 days before the services 100% of the prepayment will be charged by the company 
For No Show 100% of the prepayment will be charged by the company 
The 70% left of the payment has to be paid on the day of your service, please note we do NOT accept credit card payments but we require cash payment in Euros only. 
Note: For transaction fees there will be a extra charge on the total rate. 
Any cancellation must be made by sending an e-mail.
The Company will do all reasonably possible in endeavoring to protect personal information.
